When I start eZee FrontDesk it says "Database can not be connected"

- If you are getting this message on a client computer on a Network, then please check that you have configured Machine/IP address properly. This setting can be done from eZee FrontDesk Menu-> General Settings -> Client/Server.
- If you are getting this message on standalone mode, then your software installation was not successful (if it is a fresh installation) or it got corrupted due to any reason. In this case, please contact eZee FrontDesk support.

My antivirus software is giving a malicious script warning for idriver.exe

During the installation of the software you might encounter this message from your antivirus software about a malicious script. Generally this happens in some version of Norton antivirus. Norton antivirus will give options to select in the event of a malicious script:
- Stop this script (recommended)
- Allow this activity once
- Allow this entire script once
- Authorize this script
Please choose Authorize this script option. You can even disable the anti virus during the installation.
Note : Norton antivirus gives such message even installing Microsoft programs like MS Outlooks and others. Please rest assured our software doesn't have any virus.

On running the setup nothing happens

This happens if the Installer program has not been downloaded fully. Please try to download installer again. Sometimes it may also happen if your computer is running antivirus software. Please turn off antivirus software and try to run Installer. If problem persist please contact eZee FrontDesk support.

Is this software supported on Windows Vista?

eZee NextGen is supported on Windows Vista. However in order to install it effectively, please do following settings before installing eZee NextGen.
- Click on Start->Control Panel
- Double click and open User Accounts
- Click on "User Accounts" again on the next screen that appears
- Choose "Turn User Account Control On/Off".
- Press "Continue", uncheck "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect my computer", then click "OK".
- Restart the Computer. After restarting computer install eZee NextGen.

When I start eZee FrontDesk, It gives me message "System file corrupted, Contact eZee FrontDesk Support".

This message comes when your local regional settings does not support default eZee NextGen settings. Please contact eZee FrontDesk Support, and we will send you system file which supports your regional settings. You will not need to reinstall software, just by replacing 1 file it will just running fine.

Upon fresh installation what is start up password for "Admin" user?

Upon fresh installation, by default we do not set any password for "Admin" user. Please select Admin user from User List and press Login button. However, you can change the password whenever it is required.

After defining rooms in eZee Configuration, rooms are displayed in random order on the screen. How can I arrange them in rows and columns?

In order to arrange rooms, please go to Property Setup Menu and click on Auto Arrange. Doing this rooms will be auto arranged in rows and columns.
Optionally you can also arrange rooms in a specific layout. We recommend you to arrange rooms as per their floor plan. You can click on a room, hold down the mouse button and drag the room to desired location on screen, and release the mouse button. Once you are done arranging rooms click on Save Position menu.

When I start eZee Frontdesk it gives me message "Please configure property first"?

When we install eZee FrontDesk NextGen, we install 2 applications eZee Configuration and eZee FrontDesk. eZee Configuration is an application, which allow you to configure basic information like Room Type, Rate Type, Rates, Rooms, Tax, Hotel Information, Users etc. This is information, which is kind of master information, which will be used by eZee FrontDesk to perform transactions like Check In, Reservation, Check Out etc. So please find a short cut on your desk top named "eZee Configuration" and enter all basic information first. Once you are done with setting up basic information, please start eZee FrontDesk to start all your Front Office Operations.

I am not able to change date in eZee FrontDesk? eZee FrontDesk is not showing correct date when I try to check in a guest?

When you start eZee Configuration first time it starts with a configuration wizard. On very first step it asks user to enter the date from which they want to start software. This date defaults to 1st of current month. eZee FrontDesk maintains it's own working date. We call it Software Date (You can find it in eZee FrontDesk at the bottom of the screen). This Software Date can be different than your Computer's Date. All transaction you will perform will be performed on Software Date. In order to change this date you will need to perform Night Audit. Please click on eZee Logo on the left top of the screen, it will open a menu, please select Night Audit from this menu and run through it.

What function should I use to handle a Group?

eZee FrontDesk has a very comprehensive yet flexible Group Management feature. Please click on Front Office Menu and Select New Booking, this will guide you through wizard. Please refer to Product Help to get detailed information about this function.

I can not find any reports in eZee FrontDesk NextGen?

eZee FrontDesk NextGen comes with some very good reports to manage your business. Please click on eZee logo at Left Top corner, this will open a menu for you, Select Front Desk View -> Reports. This will list you all reports available to you.
If you are already in Reports View and you don't see any reports then please contact your Administrator. If your Administrator has not assigned any Reports to you, then you may not have access to any Reports.

When I click a room to open it, it doesn't open up and gives message, This room is in use by Admin (or any other user)?

Normally this message comes when you are using eZee FrontDesk NextGen on network. If one of users have opened a room from one computer, and if you try to open the same room from another computer, this message will come. If you are sure, this is not the case, and the same room is not opened by any other user from any other computer. Please click on tools & utilities -> Network Locks. Select the room from the list and click on Delete button.

When I try to click on Banquet it tells me create Banquet first?

In order to use Banquet, you will need to define Banquet first. In order to define Banquet, please start eZee Configuration -> Miscellaneous Menu-> Non Rental Object. This will open a dialogue for you, Click New button. For detailed information on Banqueting functions please look at product help.

When I try to void transaction, I can't void any. It does not have any void reason in drop down list to select?

In order to use Void function, you need to select Void Reason from Drop Down. As in your case, your system administrator has not defined any Void reason, you are not able to void any transaction. In order to define Void Reasons, Please start eZee Configuration -> Miscellaneous Menu -> Void Reason. Please define Void Reasons for different categories.

In eZee FrontDesk NextGen, why I can not offer discount to any guest?

In eZee Configuration when you define user, you have to specify up to what percent that user can offer discount to guest. By default it is set to 0%. In such scenario if you try to offer discount, it will not allow you to offer discount. Please contact your system administrator and ask him to set appropriate discount limit for you. This will enable you to offer discount to guests.

Why is date so important to your program?

All Tariff calculation is very much tied up with date and time. We recommend you set correct date and time at any given moment to assure data accuracy. Please make sure your computer date is correct when you install software.

What is the video feature in your program?

eZee FrontDesk offers a unique video feature. You can equip your computer with a simple Web Camera and take a picture of the guest and save it along with guest folio.

What is the swipe card feature?

eZee FrontDesk can read information from a driver license, credit card and identification card. In order to read this information, you will need to connect Magnetic Swipe Card Reader with your computer and swipe guest's driver license/credit card/identification card. Doing this eZee FrontDesk will read and populate all relevant information in eZee FrontDesk software and your check in process will be very quick. Swipe Card Reader is not included with eZee FrontDesk Software, you can purchase it separately. Please note at this moment eZee FrontDesk can only read US and Canadian driving license and Identification card.

How can I change my password?

In order to change your password, please start eZee FrontDesk NextGen- > click on eZee logo to open menu and select User setting. This will open a dialogue for you. You can change your password from this dialogue.

How to print a folio/invoice of a guest who has stayed with us sometime back?

There are several ways to print a folio/invoice of a past guest staying at Hotel. One of the simplest way is, go to eZee FrontDesk NextGen -> Tools & Utilities -> Advance Search, this will open a dialogue for you. Please enter information which you have about that guest and search for it. This will list you all past folios of the guest. Please note the folio no, which you want to print. Close Advance Search dialogue. On Room View or List View below Calendar.
Please enter this folio no in appropriate box and press search button. This will open a dialogue for you with record of this Folio, double click on this record and from there you will be able to print folio/invoice.

How do I refund a guest?

In order to refund a guest, Please open the room, click on Amount Paid tab and click Add button. This will open a dialogue to enter a new payment. Let's say for example, you want to refund 100$ by cash. In order to enter this transaction, please add a record of - 100 $ by cash. -100$ will be reflected as a refund.

How do I change the Folio Notice?

Folio Notice is the one which you see at the bottom of the guest Folio/Invoice. eZee FrontDesk comes with default Folio Notice. In order to change it, please go to eZee Configuration -> Open Menu - > Select Configuration Options -> Click on Notice tab. Please click on appropriate tab and change the working as per your liking. Press Save & Close.

Desk Clerk forgot to check in a guest in eZee FrontDesk NextGen and auditor have done night audit, how to check in a guest to a past date?

This can be done by only privileged user. If you are a privileged user, please go to eZee FrontDesk NextGen -> Go to Back Office -> Insert Transaction. This will open a wizard (as same as reservation) which will guide you through check in a guest in past date. Please note, you will only able to check in a guest to that room if the room was vacant for that check in and check out dates.
